Top American Pros and the Tennis Gear they Endorse
By: Tracy Rolling
As the weather heats up, so does the competition for America’s top Tennis Pros making their way to the US Open. Between now and then, there are several opportunities to cheer for your favorite pros, including the Cincinnati Open which is a Masters 1,000 event where American pro Frances Tiafoe lost to Jannik Sinner in the 2024 men’s finals. Jessica Pegula, another American player, lost in the 2024 women’s singles finals during a two-set nailbiter. But a lot has changed since then, including the gear some of these top athletes are using. Let’s take a look at their current racquets, shoes, strings, and bags.
Taylor Fritz
The highest ranked American on the men’s tour is Taylor Fritz. Ranked No. 4 in the world, Taylor plays with the Head Radical MP 2025 Tennis Racquet. Ironically, this racquet has earned a reputation for being “The People's Racquet.” It delivers a dynamic blend of control, spin, and power, which is helping Taylor compete at his highest level. He also endorses Asics, and wears the Asics Gel Resolution X Men's Tennis Shoe. These shoes allow him to control the court by making rapid directional changes whether he’s at the baseline or headed to the net.
Frances Tiafoe
Currently ranked No. 12 on the ATP leaderboard is Frances Tiafoe. Playfully nicknamed “Big Foe” during a conversation with friends about college, he endorses the Yonex Percept 97 Tennis Racquet. This racquet was engineered with cutting-edge technology and is considered an absolute power-house. When paired with the Yonex Poly Tour Pro 125 16L Tennis String, Big Foe can go up against the biggest hitters in the business.
Tommy Paul
With four singles titles to his name, Tommy Paul is currently ranked No. 15. The 28-year old is the face of New Balance and will be chasing down the title in New York wearing the latest version of the New Balance 996v6 Men's Shoe. Designed to propel players towards the ball, these shoes have some techy features that add speed, endurance, and flexibility to Tommy’s game. He’ll keep his gear organized using a Yonex Tennis Bag. Of course, his bag has his name on it, but regardless of your skill level, the Yonex bags are carefully crafted to help players carry their most prized possessions.
Sebastian Korda
Sebastian Korda will be decked out from head to toe in Nike tennis gear. One of his preferred tennis shoes is the Nike Zoom Vapor 12. Meticulously crafted to optimize agility, Korda will charge the court with confidence and style as he aims to nab his next title. He’ll be armed with a version of the Wilson Blade 98 (18x20) v9 Tennis Racquet. This stick was refined late last year to include cutting-edge technology for a firmer feel and more connectedness to the ball.
Coco Gauff
One of America's most promising talents is WTA pro Coco Gauff. Ranked No. 2 in the world, Coco has earned her way into 10 WTA singles finals, winning all but one, since she turned pro in 2018 at the age of 14. From the start of her career Coco has endorsed New Balance. Today, she wears her signature New Balance Coco CG2 Women's Tennis Shoe. Combining top-tier underfoot technology with off-court detailing, the CG2’s are the perfect blend of performance and style. Coco also endorses Head and plays with the Head Boom MP Mint 2024 Tennis Racquet. In its second-generation, the BOOM brings more power and trailblazing technology to her game than ever before.
Jessica Pegula
Ranked No. 4 is Jessica Pegula. Although she struggled across the pond, losing her first round match at Wimbledon, Jess is on her way to Cincinnati where she hopes to redeem herself against the Polish phenom Iga Swiatek. Jess will be playing with her faithful Yonex EZONE, which is revered as an easy-swing, player-friendly frame. Hoping it will deliver the same exceptional feel, spin, and stability she experienced during the 2024 US Open, where she made it to the finals, Jess will be dressed in adidas from head to toe. In fact, she’ll be wearing the adidas Adizero Ubersonic 5 Women’s Tennis Shoe, which are now available in five new colorways.
Danielle Collins
Nevermind Danielle Collins ranking (61), I believe she's overdue a fifth title. Danielle switched racquets during the past year from the Babolat Pure Aero 2023 Tennis Racquet to the Tecnifibre TFight 300 Tennis Racquet. Both are equally revered as the key to unlock greatness in intermediate and advanced ball strikers. On the one hand, the Babolat Pure Aero is endorsed by ledges like Rafa and next-generation players Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune, and Leylah Fernandez. But then again, pros like Daniil Medvedev and Iga Swiatek demonstrate the Tecnifibre TFight 300’s versatility every time they take the court. Danielle shows her free spiritedness by wearing a newer tennis and lifestyle brand called FP Movement.
Summary
These aren’t the only hopeful Americans. Ben Shelton, Brandon Nakashima, and Alex Michelsen will also be chasing down the elusive US Open title. From the women’s side, expect to see great things from homegrown talent Amanda Anisimova, Madison Keys, and Emma Navarro.
