The Gamma Shockbuster dampener dampens most all the vertical strings (vs only 2 strings of standard dampeners). It also stretches to a very low profile, almost string thickness vs. having mis-hit balls striking standard dampeners. It also stays on.
helps my sore wrist by taking off some of the vibration
My entire family uses these. We love these. They never come off!!
One on my favorite dampeners! Works really well, but it is a tad bit fragile. It can't take too many hard impacts at the ends because the connection points are hard plastic and can crack.
Works great
Solid dampener. Looks good too.
I love the Gamma Shockbuster II. I’ve been using them for years and have got all my friends to use them as well. Because they cover more strings, for those that don’t always hit the ball on the sweet spot of the racket every time, this dampener is forgiving.
This shock absorber is as good, or better, than any other on the market. The hooks will break if pulled to tight, but it will really absorb most of the shock from the strings.
The original gamma shockbuster II was MUCH BETTER. It had much more dampening than this model. Also the current Shockbuster II is not durable--the ends break very easily.
Like so many things, these little things are subjective. I've tried just about every one out there and prefer these. They do a great job dampening the "boing" on my strings and I've been using them for years now.
I am an older player (70) and recently went to a GAMA oversized racquet. After an adjustment period I liked everything about the racquet (Gama Big Bubba) except at higher string tension the vibration or "shock" was a real problem. I put a Gama Shockbuster on the racquet and immediately I could tell a huge difference in the reduction of vibration or "shock" sent down the racquet to my arm. Tip - if you use one don't stretch it across to many strings on a large racquet or it will break frequently. Bill in North Carolina
I like the way it dampens the strings. Last year I bought 16 to sell to members of my club. They broke so frequently I had to give people free dampeners. I paid for GAMMA's poor design out of my pocket. GAMMA needs to make the plastic ends thicker and stronger. 5 stars for performance but 1 star for durability.
My husband and I both like this shockbuster. Our only complaint is that the ends will eventually break off which renders it useless. But until that happens - it works great.
Love this product and my arm agrees with me on this. Yes, the durability of the clasp is questionable at times but I also believe it is most likely my fault with a bad shot directly on the shockbuster. Carry a couple of them in your bag!
One of the BEST on the market. Two ribbons for extra dampening.
I love this product. I play every day, about 3 hours a day. With a low stiffness racquet (Wilson stratus 3 or 5 Lite) and a soft string I can play for long periods without problems. But I am convinced that the shockbuster 2 is the key to reducing vibration. Now for the rest of the story. They stopped making these a few years ago. Could not find one. I had two left that I guarded carefully. An opponent saw I was playing with a shockbuster 2 and offered me $25 for it. I declined. That's how much I like this product. The old model leaked colored dye when they broke. But they didn't break often. The new model seems to break at the ends. No dye, but they don't last as long. That is my only complaint. I solved it by buying a jar of 48 so I would never run out again. Hopefully that will last me.
It has good dampening but I wouldn't say more than the shock buster I. Within 1 hour the clasp broke and I had to replace it with my shock buster I.

These give the best dampening of any dampener that I have tried, uniform across the string bed. The only downside I have seen is that the hooks on the ends are fragile, and can break at any time.
I've gone through and tried a million dampeners. This one definitely is my favorite. Just feels great. I covers more strings for us average players that don't always hit the sweet spot and stays on well.
Nice robust absorber. Very happy with my purchase.
Am addicted to this dampener but the durability is awful. I can't believe how often it breaks where the tubes are linked to the plastic hook area.
Vibrations stop here. Puts the ahhhhhh back in your arm.
I have tried several different dampeners and none are as effective as these
Love these dampeners.
Hands down the best dampener on the market. You won't lose it on the court, it covers a lot of the string bed and it is easy to put on your racquet.
