The price was right at nearly 50% off but was the racquet any good? The answer is Yes. Midwest isn't afraid to give the customer real bargains that not only save you money but improve your game. I got exactly what I was looking from my Head racquet by playing Heads up.
From an ex University of Mich. player. There has been a lot of buzz on which racquet Sinner uses. His Speed MP has shared holes. The 2024 MP does not. The only MP with shared holes is the XT Speed and the Speed touch. I doubt he uses the Speed Touch mold since it is so muted that there is no feel. So, my guess is that he uses the XT mold. I have four of these, weighted up at 3 and 9 and at the cap. It's coming in at 12.8 ounces, and feels incredible with Weiss Utlra Cable or Head Lynx tour (16 guage 50 lbs). Better than my Aero Origin. At stock, the stick is superb for an intermediate player with the proper strings (gut or poly). Properly customized, tournament ready. The strings this racquet is provided with are simply awful, and feels like a beginners stick with the stock weight.
I love this racquet. I have one just like it that I have used for 2 years and it works best for me. I've been playing for over 50 years and I play 3x a week
Easy process to purchase the Head XT Speed tennis racquet at a great price. The racquet is everything I hoped it would be with great power and balance.
This is one of my favorite Head racquets. It has a solid balanced feel and comfortable weight. The strings out of the box are fine, but you can get a better bite on the ball with thinner gauge.
Bought the frame to replace one I cracked when it slipped out of my hand while serving on a humid and muggy South Florida day. I went a tad bit too long without replacing the overwrap. I am an advanced player and although I’m considering an upgrade to a Pro series, the Head Speed MP has been a good fit for my all-court game and offers both touch and power; especially with personal customization (I added 4 grams total at the 3 & 9 o’clock positions).
this racquet is really nice. it’s great for beginners or intermediates like me. It offers control, spin, and power. I am fairly new to tennis and this racquet is incredibly useful. it’s really helped me take control of my ground strokes.
I am a 4.0 Player. Love this racquet.
Started playing again @ 66. Great feel and love the grip. I feel this was a good choice. Thank you!
Great mid-weight racquet. Good shock absorbent qualities and response
I love it so light and powerful.Game changer
I found this racquet to be very comfortable for me.
Well balanced racquet in a $100+ Price range. Great for beginning to intermediate players looking to perfect their forms and to add power to their game. Not so good for players who are looking to bring more spins and control.
Racquet has good balance and touch. I'm a serve and volley Doubles player. I play outdoors in Fort Collins, Colorado year round. I'm still getting use to the racquet. Great value for the price.
I've been using Radicals for many years. The last few were the 98 sq in variety. Decided to switch to this racquet and absolutely love it. Not sure if because its 100 sq in or the overall feel and power but its a very comfortable swing that seems to give control with the power. I'm a 3.5+ player and highly recommend this stick!
My dad suggested this racquet since he's an avid player and I was really impressed in my immediate play when I started hitting. It's light, feels good when contacting the ball and the control seems better for me. Highly recommend players take a look at the Head Graphene XT Speed MP.
The Head Graphene XT Speed MP A is a very good one with excellent maneuverability due to head light weight distribution. It allows me to swing out without hitting the ball out.
I play 3.5 and needed an upgrade. Tried a few frames and this was the best. The Pure Drive was just to board like. Friend recommended ALU Paower and it works well in the racquet. I get great top spin and works well at the net. Stability is nice too.
I tried this racquet out with both the 16x16 & 16x19 string patterns and all I can say is WOW. To have the ability to change string patterns, depending on what style of tennis you want to play is a game changer. Perfect combination of power and spin within this frame. I was able to create loads of topspin with the 16x16. Crisp, smooth feel with added stability with the newest Graphene technology. I had this racquet strung up with Luxilon ALU Power at 53 pounds.
I am a 4.0 singles player and have been using this racquet for 6 months now. I instantly felt an improvement in power and depth in all my shots. Also the racquet has great feel and touch and is very easy on the arm and shoulder. I prefer the 16/19 pattern overall but I did have a lot of fun with the spin produced while testing the 16/16. I had a bit of control issues with the 16/16 which I believe are workable but the deal breaker is that it goes through string about 4 times quicker so I decided to stay with the 16/19.
A wonderful raquet for recreational players. Less effort in each shot. Play with it, is easier and effortless.
I demoed this racquet, using both configurations, over the past week and was impressed with its versatility, performance and arm friendliness. I'm a 4.0 doubles player and had a chance to use it for match play as well as 2 practice sessions. While it is similar in size, weight, etc to my current Prince Black Speedport, there was a noticeable difference in the power and spin on all of my strokes. I preferred the 16x19 set up overall, the 16x16 (ASP) version was superior on the serve. Having the choice of set up is a nice problem to have. I found that the ASP was a little harder control consistency on my ground strokes and volley, but accessibility to spin was unlike anything I've ever hit before. The ball literally exploded off of the court. It may just take a little longer to adjust than I had, but it was fun to hit. The 16x19 was more traditional and took no time at all to become comfortable with it. It had ample spin potential and a feel that was a bit more solid. The volley is where the 16x19 out performed the ASP. Both racquets felt very stable on the return of serve. I liked that the handle geometry was a little more flared than my Prince. The Hydrasorb grip was an unexpected surprise. All in all, it's tough to find anything about this racquet that I didn't like.
Like flexibility to change string patterns. Solid. Got it right.
