Nice balance and feel. Prestringing seems quite appropriate. Overall nice feel
Excellent racket. Prestrung was perfect.
Very nice racquet. Large head size. Good power. Reasonable stability. Largest grip size offered was 4 - 1/2. Had to build it to 4 - 5/8.
My daughter loves this racquet. She has used it for an entire season her freshman year of high school and really grew to love it. Since that was a borrowed one, I had to buy her one of her own! I highly recommend!
The most widely used here in the Philippines. It's stable & has power. A lot of senior players using this racket.
My tennis friends were right. I put off buying this racquet for silly reasons of my own. I’ve been playing with it now for a couple months and it is the most forgiving racquet I have ever played with. It has power, spin when needed and accuracy. A totally all court/player racquet.
I've been playing with this racquet since it first came out 20 years ago. The fact that you can still buy it after 20 years show's it longevity and why it still stacks up to racquets today. It's the perfect racquet for baseline players with a large sweet spot because it's a bit head heavy.
Best move I’ve made in a long time. I’m 83. Played like a champ this morning.
I used a Hyper Hammer years ago and decided to give them a try again. Turns out it was too light and stiff for my liking.
As an avid recreational tennis player, I own several requets. I am most comfortable and play my best with this model which I began playing with over the last 5 years and have recently re-ordered for my birthday! It's got plenty of power and offers supreme comfort and control. I hope to be playing with it for many years to come!
I love my new racket. It’s not too heavy or not too light. As Goldilocks said, “It’s just right.” A large head with a bigger sweet spot helps me make more shots. More control helps me win more matches and at the price I paid, what’s not to like?
This racquet was recommended by the coach for my daughter who just started taking lessons. The racquet serves its purpose and has a balanced feel and weight. My daughter is happy with it.
From the first hit, I felt that the ball came off this raquet with a lot more pop than my old raquet. I love how light it is. With its light weight and oversized head I feel I have a lot more control of my shots.
My wife loves it.
Gave it as a gift. The player was very pleased with its performance.
Bought my girlfriend a new racket. She has been using this for 5 years and has no desire to switch to a different racket. Great experience ordering and had a quick delivery
I bought it because of the description and always play with a Wilson racket. I Wish I could return it.
Control, power and reach. Just what I wanted. And free 2-day delivery. Thanks, Midwest Sports.
The larger head has given my daughter (15) better control of the ball. It’s very light and has a great feel. It did need a dampener.
Love the racket. Light, powerful and great for doubles. Suggest you string to maximum tension.
Feels a little heavier than expected but it is a great racquet for the money!
Tennis player suggested this racquet, I played with the Hammer 4.0, this is the closest I could get to the old Hammer 4.0. Has not yet played with it enough to give an accurate review.
it meets expectations. all the specs are accurate
I love my new racket! Nice and light weight with good balance for me. No more elbow pain.
All time classic ....in the mould of the Wilson Profile. Lightweight and facilitates great control .
There's nothing not to like ! Lightweight, great control and an absolute classic gem of a racquet !
Perfect length, grip, and balance for my mid-level game!
Not enough power
My 1st Wilson Hammer led to a 2nd purchase as a backup...pleasing on both accounts.
I like the perimeter weighting and 110sqin size
I have had this racket in the past and it somehow got a crack...I suspect in the stringing process because I am not a racket abuser. I loved it! Unfortunately, I have not been able to use it, it still has the cardboard advertising and is in the closet, All our leagues and parks are cancelled and closed due to this nasty Covid 19 virus that is making its way across the planet. Stay safe and healthy 🙏🏻
I ordered this racquet for $99...say what!?!?!? ....And I can honestly say it’s one of THE BEST racquets I’ve ever used. I’m no spring chicken...I’m a 63 year old female and I’ve been playing for almost 50 years. During those years I have bought and tried dozens of racquets. I’ve had all the expensive racquets that I’ve payed as much as $275 for and this Wilson Hammer ranks in my top 3! It’s very comfortable on my arm, easily maneuverable, accurate and has a lot of POP! My serve actually does some damage now. I highly recommend giving it a try...You will not be sorry!
I like the large head size, weight, and slightly head heavy design. I’m getting more spin especially on my slice serve.
The racquet was a little too oversized but felt really nice with its weight which was light. It was a bit stiff. Came strung nicely. Good racquet for its price though.
This racquet is lightweight but powerful. I am a 50 something woman who plays in leagues with men and I love this racquet. It is perfect for me!
I bought this racquet for my wife and she loves it. It's light weight and generates lots of power. Great racquet for beginners.
I like the feel of the racket and the price. Got tired of paying $200 for a racket that didn't fee like my older rackets. Took a chance on these and they work for me. Don't care about the fancy brand names.
this racquet is lightweight , and can generate a lot of power , i have been buying this racquet for more than 7 years now ,and will continue to do so ,i don't get tennis elbow from it and its a great light racquet
I shopped around for some time, trying out so many different models from so many different brands. When I finally hit with this frame, I knew that I could finally stop shopping. Its just a great all around racket that have plenty of easy power, yet quite good control and feel. I have lent it to a number of others who all have said how easy it was to play with stick... from 3.5 players to 5.0 players And at the price, its an outstanding deal!
I purchased this because, after about 40 years of playing, have had lots of arm issues and was looking for a stick that would give me a bit of pop without having to take a full swing. This stick did the trick. I get more pop on the ball without having to grind down and serves are really good. The generous sweet spot is nice. Volleys are really easy as are overheads. I demo'd the Fed racquet which was nice but way too heavy and my arm ached after using it --- did not have that problem with the Hammer. I think this is a great option for senior players that are looking for more zip and a racquet that is easy on the arm. Price was great too.
I'm not a club player, just a weekend warrior who plays once a week in the summer with a few guys from the neighborhood. The Hammer is perfect for me. When I get better, I will explore a heavier stick with a smaller head size. Until then, the Hammer stays.
I was and am completely satisfied with the product and the service. I received the product within three days, completely as I expected.
I am a beginner who wants to start playing more. I had a Wal Mart racquet and it was just not very fun to play. This was so much better. I can swing more and still keep the ball in. It even goes over when I mostly miss! Nice racquet to start with.
As many of the other reviewers have said, this racquet is great! I am an older player and I recently switched from the Wilson Sledge Hammer. I loved the Hyper Hammer MUCH more! I have switched almost completely to doubles these days, and this racquet has been a great improvement for my net game. I have found that I am able to poach more with this and my volleys are crisp and well placed. The large sweet spot is perfect for me because at my age I need something that won’t require as much effort in swinging through the ball. This new hammer gives me more power and is lighter than the older Hammer. The frame is easy to swing and is very maneuverable on the court. Overall it is a very generous frame and I am extremely satisfied! I strung this racquet with Wilson Sensation at mid tension.
I am a 4.0 player who hits with a lot of spin. I also had gotten tennis elbow before I had purchased this racquet a few years ago. I was concerned that this model might be too head heavy but it did not aggravate my tennis elbow condition at all. It has a tremendous amount of power and is very light weight. I demoed 3 oversized racquets along with this one and the choice was very easy for me to make.
Very light nice feel
Used a heavier Wilson for years but getting older, needed a change. Like the reviews indicated, the much lighter Hammer has improved my serve and volley game. More control on ground strokes but lost a little power.
I'm a 3.5 senior (80) playing doubles and found that I needed a larger racquet head to compensate for eyesight and age. I used a Wilson Hammer years ago before switching to a Head for lightness. The Wilson Hyper Hammer gives me a little more power and larger sweet spot and is lighter than the old Hammer. I am still adjusting to making drop shots and controlling the additional power but I like the racquet a lot.
A friend has 2 of these and recommended it. I tried hers and ordered it. I received it quickly and it has improved my game as the ball comes off this racquet much quicker then my 8 year old Head .

Wife was complaining that her wrist was hurting from playing tennis. No more complaints she loves her new wilson hyper hammer 5.3
As advertised. Delivered promptly.
A very generous racquet; ample sweet spot, easy to swing and maneuver, ample power.
