Cheap Materials and Narrow
This shopper rated the product 1 out of 5 stars

Not enough fabric on the sides. Laces and tongue have to cover more surface area - shrinkflation. Doesn't offer the same level of support as older 696 models. NOT 2E - much narrower. NB really cheaped out on this shoe.

Cheap Material & Narrower than normal
This shopper rated the product 1 out of 5 stars

Been wearing NB 2E for years. This is the first time they don't fit. Materials are cheap, tongue is flimsy. Not enough fabric on the sides so too much of the tongue is showing, and laces have to cover more and do more of the supporting.

Outsole worn through in less than 3 months
This shopper rated the product 1 out of 5 stars

I bought this shoes - New Balance 696v6 tennis shoes 5 months ago, I actually started to wear them less than 3 months. The outsole of the left shoe has already worn through completely. I have called for warranty but was told this one is not included in the warranty list. I have bought many brands of tennis shoes but I have not have this kind of fast wear before.

Too narrow
This shopper rated the product 3 out of 5 stars

I had been wearing Wilsons for many years. They hurt my small toes. So, I ordered these. The result - too narrow. They felt like D. I have to try 4E.
