new to pickleball

I'm new to the sport and don't have a lot of experience with this type of shoes (so take this review with a grain of salt) but they feel heavy to me --kind of like my hiking boots. I feel slower to the ball. Perhaps they just have a lot of support to avoid injury and the added safety benefit of keeping you from chasing balls that you would probably pop up and lose the point anyway on. They look well made and seem durable. I'm going to keep searching for my shoe.

Why the new design?

I have been buying the Gel Resolution tennis shoes for over a decade. They have been my favorite shoe in terms of fit and function. So i was excited to get the latest version for my 2025 tennis season. I hate this latest version - they look, wear, and feel like basketball shoes. They are too heavy for tennis shoes, and the modified high top on the inside ankle is a joke. I have already played in these and cannot send them back - but i do plan to look at other shoes for tennis this season
