This shoe is great for overall performance and price. I still think the Gel Game 6 was one of the best ever in this series. Gel Game 9 had a slight larger than normal toe box but still it didn't feel like it sacrifice performance or support. It did feel like it rubs the ball of foot (toward toes) too much and felt a bit sore after 2 hours of hitting I think because of the larger toe box. Still it's way better than the courtflash series from adidas where I kept rolling my ankle 2-3 times per match where with any Asics of any year & model I don't at all.
Asics sizes are messed up -- be ready to return for different size. I keep having to send shoes back.
While these shoes aren't the best tennis shoe I've ever worn, they're fantastic for the price and great if you're not rough on your shoes or play all the time. They're pretty light and are a comfortable fit. Definitely not the most durable but that comes with the territory, it seems.
I have wide feet and feet that have gotten bigger as I age. I have not had tennis shoes for sometime, playing with regular running shoes. What a differences it makes with true tennis shoes. Stability is great and helps my form. The fit was good compared to many claiming a wide shoe box. These have a very nice fit likely due to no top stitching and only web over the top. The 2 things I noticed is: 1- lack of arch support and 2-not as much cushion as expected. I placed an arch support in place that helped lots. otherwise it was a good fit as soon as I put them on without need for break-in. I don't do well with break-in. The lack of cushion in the sole was a surprise but seemed to be okay for now.
Comfortable, good value, and sharp looking. Feels like they took the regular fit and stretched it out so it feels slightly longer with slightly less width to it.
